Hooting for a hundred: Woman celebrates 100th birthday at Hooters

BOCA RATON, Fla. (WPEC) — Edie Koehn and her family have been celebrating her birthday at Hooters for almost two decades.

A retired Army nurse, Edie has lived in Boca Raton for 47 years. For the last 17 years, Edie has been a regular customer at the Hooters located at 2240 NW 19 Street.

Edie celebrated her 100th birthday with dinner at Hooters on Tuesday afternoon in Boca Raton, and the team wanted to make her centennial special.

We enjoy celebrating Edie and love having the Koehn family join our Hooters of Boca Raton team for her annual Birthday celebrations. We want to make her 100th birthday an extra special day for her and the biggest and best celebration,” said Hooters of Boca Raton Managing Partner Chris Torelli. “We appreciate Edie being a loyal customer for the past 17 years.

Torelli joined the group of Hooters Girls in celebrating Koehn.

At the celebration family and friends of Edie wore specially made t-shirts that read, "Hooters Edie's 100th! Hootin' along since 1923." The waitresses also took photos with Edie, much to her delight.

Her daughter Candy Koehn says her mother is the most caring person she knows.

“Mom had been the most caring person raising eight children, 19 grandkids, 38 great-grandkids and now two great-great grandkids, she loves her family and her Hooters family,” said Candy Koehn.
